So i re-launched the site, asked for feedback and i got some great replies, one of which made me think about the definition of soul-surfing (see my last blog what-is-soul-surfing) and another that sparked an idea for what could be a really cool thing to do.

I’d like to do features/blogs on my surfing friends from around the world.

Doesn’t have to be too fancy, just a little piece with some photos, maybe just explaining what surfing is like where you are from. Maybe its about the breaks, maybe the crowds and the vibe, maybe change for the better, or change for the worse, disappearing breaks due to development, loss of access, pollution, or maybe something completely different, about your art, about your photography or anything you’d like to talk about in your area.

I think it would be great to get a flavour of what surfing means to people in different places,  and it would probably be a lot more interesting than me going on about stuff all the time. Just a quick scan of my surfing contacts on flickr shows people from all corners of the world so it could end up in a really interesting series. I’d be happy to link back to your sites, or anything else that you would like to highlight.

So, let me know if you like the idea and would like to take part. I’ve not thought of a schedule or anything yet, i’d like to see who is interested and will just do it as and when people respond.

Cheers
Jason

*Thanks for all the positive replies already, have had people from Australia, Spain, South Africa, the UK and the west coast USA express interest so far!
