Big swell at Freshwater bay, Isle of Wight, with only the most committed surfers making it out back in testing conditions, with some super deep take-offs as the sets were breaking outside the rock-boil at times!

The Saturday night wave bouy readings (channel lightship) peaked at 22.5ft at 12 seconds with a solid 14ft – 17ft still showing for most of Sunday itself with fairly light Northerly (offshore) winds. Not saying this was a 14ft swell on the isle of wight, but i reckon we saw some solid 6-8ft groundswell at times and i saw plenty of double overhead waves being ridden.

Sunday 31st January 2021 at Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight, shot with a Canon 6d II with the 70-200 f2.8L lens and a 2x extender.
