Hardly used. Had custom made and have surfed it abroad but tend to just use a Longboard on the Island and it isn’t being used.

Gulfstream Retro Rocket Surfboard

So, i’m selling a few things that have been hanging around in the garage gathering dust, and they all vaguely relate to my surfing life so i thought it was worth a blog on the soul-surfing website!

The mountain board is a lot of fun, and it got lots of use several summers ago when we had no waves for ages and i needed to have ‘that feeling’. Unfortunately i dont have the time these days and i’m also getting a bit old to shrug off the inevitable bruises that come with having something thats so much fun to play with. The tiki bag has made one surf trip to North Devon, and i’ve since traded in the board that lived in it,  so the bag is no longer required, but i could do with having a slightly bigger bag for my 7’6″ mini-mal, so will part-ex if that is offered.

Scrub Mountain Board (MTB) – Furnace Creek SOLD

Quality manufacturer Mountain/Kiteboard by Scrub (with leash).

This is an excellent quality make mountain board, thats now in very used condition thats been abandoned in my garage un-used for a few years. As you would expect from a used board there is some cosmetic damage consisting of the odd scuff, scrape and chip. The truck springs and toe binding post bolts have rusted and they will require new bolts/nuts. The tyres have good tread, but one of them doesn’t hold pressure for very long (lasted long enough for a days riding last time i used it tho), so a new inner tube maybe required.

So to sum up, a once excellent quality board that requires attention to get it fully functioning again, but when new the board was about £200, so its a bargain at £40.

Then i thought i shouldn’t do it at all, as the site should remain pure and only deal with surfing and waves (i’ve never taken any ads or promos on the site, despite requests)

But in the end i thought it best just to come out with it, make it a shameless plug, its my site why not good wetsuits are a vital part of surfing in the UK, and the changes over the last 10-15 years mean you can probably have twice as much time in the water on a winters day, and thats when the best waves are here, so maybe a little discussion about suits wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

And this blog has another angle too, vanity, and perhaps its an angle a few people can relate to, pretending that the advancing years are having no effect and i can still fit into the same size suit as i did 15 years ago. I got seduced by all the hi-tec jargon for the new ‘pyschofreak’ winter suits, and i let my desire blind me to the fact that the one i was looking at was a size medium, and i’ve really been too big for a medium for a few years now.

The ebay listing is WAS full of all that technical gumpf that worked on me, describing the ‘state of the art’ technology making it the warmest suit ever made etc.. And the fact is, it is the warmest suit i’ve ever tried, i actually felt warm out there in it, and i tried it on two of the coldest days this winter, so i’m genuinely disappointed to be selling HAVE SOLD it, but i need to wear a large and wearing a suit thats too small isnt good for your back or you’re surfing so its gotHAD to go.
